Stacey Halloran, the Managing Principal of Equidae Insurance, Inc., has been an owner, exhibitor and lover of the American Saddlebred for more than 30 years.
She started her professional career as a forensic analyst with Rufus & Rufus Accounting Corporation, as well as the firm’s COO. She has more than 25 years of field experience in both civil and criminal matters, specializing in indirect methods of proof used to calculate net income, expenditures and net worth. In 2000, she formed Advantage Accounting, Inc., offering consulting and accounting services to small businesses, including the insurance and equine industry. She is the Vice-President of Advanced Investment Strategies, Inc., an investment advisory firm.
Ms. Halloran received her B.S. in Accounting from Marshall University. She is a graduate of the University of Charleston’s Master of Forensic Accounting program and was a former instructor in the program. Ms. Halloran has been a Certified Valuation Analyst since 2004.
Suzy Shiflet has been in the horse industry for more than 30 years, beginning with eventing in the hunter/jumper world and eventually moving into American Saddlebreds. Throughout her years as a trainer, she has trained many breeds such as Morgans, Hackneys, Arabians, National Show Horses, Warmbloods and Thoroughbreds, just to name a few.
She has been training American Saddlebreds for more than 20 years — the past 18 years in North Carolina. At her current location, she keeps 20 stalls for training horses as well as breeding and raising Saddlebreds for clients and herself.
In addition to being a professional in the equine industry, Ms. Shiflet is a licensed official to judge American Saddlebreds, Saddleseat Equitation, Roadsters, Hackneys, and Morgans. In 2016, she was an official Saddleseat Equitation judge at The Morgan Grand National Horse Show.
Billy Jarrell has been involved in the horse industry for over 30 years in numerous ways. Billy started riding as a child and competing at the small local level and went on to compete at some of the most prestigious shows across the country promoting the American Saddlebred.
As a professional trainer, he was responsible for putting successful teams together and protecting his clients most cherished assets. Billy spent 16 years as a trainer of American Saddlebreds, Hackneys, and roadsters in central Kentucky. He is also a USEF licensed official in the Saddlebred, Hackney, Equitation, and Roadster divisions. Billy also served as the inaugural Chairman of the UPHA Young Professionals Committee for 3 years.
Most recently, Billy has been involved in the therapeutic side of the horse business serving as a veterinary laser tech for one of the most respected equine veterinarians in the horse business. Billy has seen the horse business from all sides; as an owner, breeder, trainer, and caregiver. All of this experience will help him understand the needs of his clients today.
